'Nutkin' - Giclee Prints in four diferent sizes also available
This drawing was completed in 2018 and was a real turning point in my coloured pencil journey in terms of lighting. I still love this drawing and the way the light make the fur curve around the shoulder.
Hand drawn in lightfast Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and printed on acid free watercolour paper so that you can see every pencil stroke, just like the original.

Inspiration
Our old garden was absolutely full of squirrels and so I really needed to try to capture one on paper. When looking for a reference photo the red squirrels really caught my eye and I couldn't wait to try to tackle the beautiful red and orange tones. I am still to draw a grey squirrel which I see regularly, they are very cute too, even if they eat all my bulbs!
How it was created
Samantha begins by slowly building up layers of coloured pencil going from light to dark to create the texture in the fur and atlers. Coloured pencils are notoriously slow and unforgiving and so it's important to preserve any highlights and not to go too dark in certain areas.

UK shipping is FREE, but Internation Shipping rates may vary. I have no control over when this will happen, but I will notify you before sending if the rates are significantly higher.
Original artwork can be returned as long as it is undamaged and in all of the original packaging.
All returns will need to be insured to the full value of the piece as you will be fully responsible for it until it arrives back safely. Please retain the proof of postage and I would recommend sending the item tracked. I cannot refund items that do not arrive back or are damaged in any way.
